The Preparation Prayer
Our Heavenly Father, prepare us to enter Your kingdom:
Show us our faults and give us the desire, humility and persistence necessary, that we may correct them so we stop triggering others and generating illwill in them towards us;
Convict us to feel remorse and regret for our wrongs against others and give us the courage to
confess and make things right with them, that we may be forgiven and reconciled and the trust made even stronger;
Teach us love, compassion and kindness towards everyone, that we may forgive those who wrong us instead of trying to trigger them back or punish them for it, for we know we err too and will require others’ mercy at times;
Grant us understanding of human nature, that we may fellowship with others by listening and sharing to empathize and sympathize with each other, so that heartfelt, trustworthy connections are formed;
Develop in us a positive attitude, that we may exhibit a sense of humor and not take ourselves too seriously, so we spread joy and good cheer through our every interaction;
Reveal our gifts to us, that we may commit and devote ourselves to honing and perfecting them, and then using them to serve and benefit others;
Encourage us to respect, commend and show gratitude to those who serve us, that they may be recognized and rewarded for their efforts, so they may be motivated to make even greater contributions;
Inspire in us generosity of time, effort or resources, that we may help those who have failed to provide for their needs through their own earnest efforts;
Foster in us the fortitude to longsuffer our temporary hardships, defeats and heartaches when they come, that we may prevail victorious with increased resilience, perseverance and strength of character;
Ensure we learn the lesson from our every mistake or adversity, that we may grow in wisdom and sound judgment to improve ourselves, our relations, and our affairs;
Lead us to conquer our every insecurity, doubt and fear, and to heal from our wounds, that we may exemplify unshakeable confidence in ourselves and an undying hope and faith in our destinies;
And give us guidance and grant us indisputable signs and revelations and make their meanings known to us it’s working in our favor for our ultimate good, that we may accept and trust Your plan for our lives with patience, poise and peace, free from disappointment, discouragement, frustration and anger;
For we know that gaining these blessings will open the gate and grant us entry into Your kingdom, and we will dwell in it forever and ever.
Amen.
