THE PETITIONS
Petition 1
My
Father, the wicked have imprisoned me,
giving me nothing but
tatters to wear,
leaving my body shivering.
How much
longer is your son to be
persecuted at the hands of
evildoers,
before you fulfill your promise to him?
The
world looks on seeing your son’s
tormentors terrorizing and
torturing him,
and does this not make them question your
power?
My God! Show mankind your mighty strength
by delivering your son from his enemies,
and establishing his
eternal kingdom!
Give your son and the world evidence
that you remove and discipline the wicked
and seat the
righteous in their place.
Put your son on his everlasting
throne,
giving him a reason to sing your praises
and
testify to your goodness and greatness!
The people groan
at the wicked oppressing them
and stealing the fruits of
their labor,
giving them trouble and grief.
The people
demand deliverance from evil rulers,
that their happiness may
be restored
and their children’s futures secured.
When
will you but speak the words from your lips
and certainly
your son’s prison walls
will melt and the chains drop
off?
Father, it plagues my soul with bitter distress
that you remain silent and still
and don’t command your
Messiah into his reign,
But let it be according to your will and
timing
and that the appointed hour comes speedily
to
the blessing of all mankind!
Petition 2
My
Father, I know you hate all that is evil,
and you do not
respond to the ungodly.
If a transgressor has unrepentant sins,
prayer and fasting count for nothing.
Search me and reveal any
hidden iniquities
against you or against my brethren.
Let
me admit to them, and correct them,
that you might answer my
cries for rescue.
I know you hate the wickedness of those
who persecute and torment the innocent.
And you despise those
who fight their own battles,
instead of waiting on you and
your plan.
Thus, vindicate me from any wrong
I’ve
committed without provocation.
And forgive me my outrages
against the injustices done to me.
Help me to trust you and
your plan,
that I may at last be counted blessed.
Show
me your great mercy and goodness
by bringing my seed back
into my life.
Demonstrate your authority by giving me
my
heart’s desire in a loyal wife.
My Father, my God, my LORD, do
this,
and will not it reconcile mankind back to you?
For
will not my faith in you and its manifestation
convince the
nations you are God?
Will it not prove to the masses that those
who humbly depend on your receive just rewards?
Inline your
loving ear to my petitions
and make my dreams a
reality!
Bless your son, as a good father loves to see
his children happy and at peace.
I know it’s in your power to
make it so,
and I pray you delay no longer.
Petition 3
My
Father, teach me to love my enemies,
that I might not retaliate
to their evil:
Let me not attack their characters,
seeking to ruin them and their reputations;
Let me not defile
their sexuality,
painting them as disgraces as men or
women;
Let me not wound their pride or esteem,
making
them feel worthless and inferior;
Let me not threaten to punish
them,
striking fear in their hearts for their defiance;
Let
me not revile them with curses,
triggering them into
aggressive retaliation;
Let me not dehumanize them,
framing them as less than human souls;
Let me not vilify them as
evil,
for there is good in all that needs revelation;
Let
me not insult their intelligence,
making them feel stupid or
foolish;
Let me not spite them in rebellion,
seeking to
hurt them by injuring myself;
Let me not assault their bodies,
punishing them for their transgressions.
And let me not deny
them their liberties,
dominating them with sheer force.
In
all these things, may you stop my tongue
and let them be
baffled by my silence.
Instead, urge me to serve them and
their needs,
that they may be convicted to take my side.
If
I see I can help them in worthy aims,
let me aid them in
carrying them out.
Let me returning good for evil minister to
them,
convicting their consciences to repent.
Let my
absence of evil be a demonstration,
something they can aspire
to.
Make it impossible for them to rightly accuse me
of
any unrighteousness or ungodliness.
When they cast curses
on me and terrorize me,
or afflict me with torture spells and
hexes,
Let me bless them in response to their evil
by
thinking thoughts through the agony,
Thoughts of wanting for
them what I do for myself:
love and respect, prosperity and
praise and freedom!
Strengthen me through the suffering to
desire for them what I do for myself.
Humble me to pray
for them and their souls,
that their consciences might
convict them.
Let remorse and regret wash over them,
and
they recognize their wickedness.
Let them repent and turn from
their evil,
so they need not endure the penalties.
Hear
my prayers, O GOD, my God, and let my pleas
be upheld with
your mighty arm.
O LORD! Teach me to love my enemies,
bless those who curse me,
Do good to those that hate me,
and pray for those who persecute me.
Petition 4
My
Father, did not your servant David
petition you to bring his
enemies to ruin?
Did he not cry out to you to reduce them
to shame and destruction, with their seed cut off?
And did you
not incline your ear and hear his pleas
by bringing calamity
upon them?
O GOD, my God! I bring a different petition for
my
enemies than my forefather’s cries of distress.
Instead
of their ruin, convict them to
feel remorse and turn from
their evil.
Put it into their hearts to repent of their
wickedness,
that they may be absolved of the penalties.
O
LORD! Show your son’s enemies mercy,
and let them not go
down in defeat.
Convert them from workers of iniquity
into kings of righteousness and justice!
Show your son’s
enemies your steadfast love
and your faithfulness to the
godly.
Your servant David craved retribution
for
the suffering his enemies inflicted upon him,
But I pray my
enemies recognize their errors
and seek to make amends for
them.
For if they do not, will they not come to
experience the wrath of a loving father?
Thus, convict their
consciences to deep regret
that they may correct their
transgressions.
Only in this way may they absolve themselves
from the bad karma they have stored up.
If you, in your mighty
power, created all things,
certainly you can make these pleas
manifest.
Praise you LORD! Let my enemies witness
your
great authority and comply at once!
Petition 5
My
Father, teach me to trust your plan,
that you bring justice
and restoration.
Help me to put my full faith in you
and
not bemoan the obstacles set in my path.
O, how my enemies
transgress me
and there seems to be no end to their
torments.
You see all that they have taken from me,
and
how they persist in their evil.
You have witnessed them cheat me
out of
my just rewards for services rendered.
You have
beheld them steal and hide my seed;
for decades have I been
deprived of their sight.
And you can testify to their injustice
and corruption
by turning an innocent boy into a slave.
You
know the great losses I have suffered,
and the persecution I
have endured!
How do such circumstances affect a man
but
to bolster his disappointment and discouragement?
And does not
the relentless delay of dreams
increase these agonies and
anguishes?
Thus, grant me confidence the appointed hour
shall arrive, remedying me of all doubt.
Give me patience and
poise in the waiting,
and teach me to depend on you for
strength.
Pour out your perfect tranquility upon me,
that I remain calm in the midst of the waiting.
Help me to trust
you’re preparing in the delay
a blessing to surpass all the
suffering.
If now is not yet the time to restore my losses,
let these petitions manifest in me!
For then, when the hour
comes at last,
surely, I will praise your exalted name
and testify to your goodness and greatness!
Petition 6
My
Father, I offer up my highest gratitude
and express
thanksgiving for a prayer finally answered!
My enemies
deliberately and viciously afflicted me,
such that my eyes
burned like flames of fire.
Whatever I looked at, I froze and
saw nothing,
as the cord between sight and mind was
severed.
My affliction was obviously apparent to all
who
encountered me, bearing no hidden secret.
I was made the scorn
of scoffers and mockers,
who ridiculed me and laughed at my
torment.
They gloated over me in their haughtiness,
thinking me a debauched shame and disgrace.
I was the target of
their scornful contempt,
and they had no conscience in
humiliating me.
They giggled, laughed and gossiped among
themselves,
witnessing me suffer unbearable grief and
distress.
Because my eyes were locked in their sockets,
they remorselessly mocked and scoffed at me.
But GOD, my
God! You guided me in your wisdom
to see and overcome my
damnable curse!
You provided a path whereby I might recover
from the enemies cunning schemes and devices.
You, O LORD, led
me and made known to me
the remedy that would relieve me of
my affliction!
You turned my dishonor into a blessing that,
through my example, others might find alleviation too.
You
transformed my invalidity into confidence,
by taking what was
once weak and making it strong!
In this, you tied the tongues of
the mockers,
making it clear to them the error was theirs all
along!
You, my Father, in your abounding loving-kindness
did all this, and more, for your favorite son!
Let the credit
and praise belong to you forever,
and I petition you that I
only advance further!
Make it so that there is no end to my
evolution,
and that my growth in confidence never ceases.
You
have done these things for me,
and
I know you will only continue to guide me.
Let the people
witness even greater development,
follow my example, and
testify to their results.
Let it bring hope to all who suffer
afflictions,
with them knowing an end to their torments
exists.
Let them abide in it and persist in the course
until they, too, find relief from their sufferings.
My
Father, I petition you to bless the afflicted
through the
wisdom you gave me as a gift.
I pray they do as I did, and
suffer no more,
just as you have put an end to my
torments.
For this, O LORD, do you deserve praise!
I
testify to your goodness and greatness!
Praise your exalted name
forevermore!
Petition 7
My
Father, develop in me compassion for,
and understanding of my
enemies,
and those who hate me without cause.
Remind me
when they torment and persecute me,
that all evil thoughts,
words and deeds
bring to them that express them grave
penalties.
Teach me to, instead of retaliating in bitterness,
realize that their wickedness brings
consequences to such
evildoers as these:
When they find fault and magnify my
weaknesses,
let me understand they are jealous,
which
brings them more loneliness as time passes;
When they criticize
and seek to discredit me,
let me realize they are envious,
which sabotages them from finding prosperity;
When they put
limitations on my liberties,
let me remember they are
intolerant,
which undermines the joy they could
experience;
When they mock me and scoff at me,
let me
not forget they are vain and conceited,
which condemns them
to secret feelings of inferiority;
When they guilt-trip me for
my past iniquities,
let me keep in mind they are filled with
self-pity,
which makes inner peace an impossibility for
them.
O GOD, my God! Let me not resent my enemies,
but love them through compassion
and an understanding of
their transgressions.
Let me never forget that those who do
evil
bring contempt down upon their heads,
punishing
themselves for their ignorance.
I petition you to ever and
always
keep these timeless truths never behind,
but
always in the forefront when I suffer wrongs.
I know you are
good and love to bless those
who humble themselves before you
and man,
that they may be exalted by your mighty
power.
Praise you LORD! For I know this prayer will
fall
on fertile soil and germinate a hundredfold
in its ripeness
what was asked of you!
Petition 8
My
Father, let forgiveness and repentance
be the watchwords of
my entire life.
Let me be merciful to those who wrong me,
so I harbor no bitterness for their iniquities.
And let me be
filled with remorse when I wrong,
so I confess to those I’ve
trespassed against.
Thus, make it so I might find
reconciliation:
both when I am offended and when I
offend.
Teach me to replace rage with compassion,
for all sin requires mercy and forgiveness.
Let me remember that
those who trespass
against me bring consequences upon
themselves.
In this, make it so that I do not add to
the
penalties they are fated to suffer.
Let my kindness and mercy
minister to them,
that their consciences might convict
them;
Such that they want to correct their transgressions,
and make amends by putting them right.
And humble me to
see and confess my sins
to those I have trespassed
against.
Let my remorse and regret over my wickedness
arouse in them a soft, forgiving heart.
Let them be moved to
mercy by my initiative,
such that they forgive and release
any bitterness.
For it is good for their souls to commit to
this;
thus, let me play my role in its manifestation.
O
LORD, let me ever and always forgive and repent,
to lay the
foundation for reconciliation.
These petitions do I request of
you,
and I know you will be quick to answer.
Praise your
exalted name, O GOD, my God!
let the world see your glory
through me,
as you work your purposes through my conduct!
Petition 9
My
Father, resolve in me to trust your plan,
and grant me
patience in the waiting.
Help me to refrain from forcing my
blessings
with raging protests against my oppressors.
Give
me a calm mind and level emotions
while I wait for you to
move your hand.
Even though I can’t see your movements,
let all anxiety vanish, giving way to faith.
Make it
known to me I will see my seed
when all of us are prepared
for the reunion.
Make clear your design behind a loyal wife
when we are both evolved to serve each other.
Make me realize
there is hope for the hour
when I will finally be rewarded
for my services.
Give me confidence I will have true friends
when they are permitted to make themselves known.
And give me
faith my freedom will be restored
when your purposes in my
slavery are fulfilled.
O LORD, help me to trust you and
your plan,
that when the breakthrough comes,
I will
be greatly astounded and grateful!
O GOD, my God! In that moment
let me
understand the purpose of my sufferings
and
give thanksgiving for the great blessings!
All these things I
petition you;
so incline your ear to my pleas
and
don’t stay your hand in granting them.
Petition 10
My
Father, teach me love and compassion for
the ignorance of
struggling humanity.
Let me not judge, condemn or shame
those who are unaware of the harm they do;
For would I respond
well to being chastised
over things I did not know I was
doing?
Grant me a loving, sympathetic heart
when I
see the follies and foibles of mankind,
knowing they only
bring suffering upon themselves.
Make gentle my admonitions of
faults and errors
that those who incline their ears to me
don’t resist me but listen and abide.
Let my reproofs not
trigger defensiveness,
but a willingness to hear and
consider,
that adhering to them brings blessings.
Bring
me tact in addressing short-comings
so that my the hearers
recognize the wisdom
of my truthful doctrines and
precepts;
For what good is it to be right in rebuke
if I
am responsible for closing ears to it,
that the wisdom is
never procured and applied?
O LORD! Make me a vessel the
people respond to,
that it comes to their greatest good!
Form
me into a man who earns the respect of all;
for is this not
the best way to bless the people?
O GOD, my God! Hear my
petitions and make manifest
each and every sincere and
earnest plea.
I know you will do this for me because
the
people will be greatly blessed as a result.
Praise you LORD!
Because of your steadfast love
and faithfulness I already
consider it done!
Petition 11
My
Father, fashion me into a man
who is the servant of all!
Let
me not only minister to those who
already agree with my
doctrines and precepts,
But also to those who disagree with
them,
and even oppose and seek to refute them.
Grant
me perfect self-control to the opposition,
lest I further
deafen already stopped ears
Let me take no offence to criticism
and ridicule,
which only confirms those against me.
Instead,
let me return good for evil
that the opposition is humbled by
their guilt.
And let my persistent examination of myself,
acknowledging when my conduct is harmful,
Set a mighty example
of the pathway
that leads to peace, harmony and
happiness.
Let my humility and courage in this task
appeal to my allies and enemies alike!
For then, might they
desire for themselves
these same blessings you give to
me?
Form me into an example of upright manhood,
and make
it so attractive all crave it too!
O GOD, my God! Hear my
pleas and petitions,
that I may inspire transformation in
all!
Let them say, “We want the results he gets;
therefore, let us do as he does!”
My LORD, I know you have
already done this,
but let it increase and continually
overflow!
Praise you LORD! I know you know my requests
before I even come to ask them of you,
and you are ever and
always at work in me.
Petition 12
My
Father, remind me to ever and always
be grateful for the
blessings you give:
I wake to the sun shining its light;
I do not have to live in darkness.
I turn a tap and have water
to drink and wash;
I do not have to dig a well.
I can go
to the shops and get any food;
I do not have to hunt or
harvest.
I have a warm bed and a roof over my head;
I
did not have to erect it myself.
I can go to the shops and get
clothing;
I do not have to sew and mend.
I have books to
read from the wised men;
I do not have to meet or talk to
them.
I have the choicest comforts many don’t,
so let
me never, ever forget that!
Praise you LORD! You make all things
grow,
so that I may receive all these blessings.
Petition 13
My
Father, let me not be as your servant Moses,
who angrily
rebuked the sins of the people.
Instead, let me be as your
servant Nathan,
who gently led them to realize it for
themselves.
For does not a man who is sharply reproved
get enraged and resist the reprimand?
Does it not make him feel
vulnerable and powerless
such that his only thought is to
regain control?
Does he not feel judged and condemned,
such that he seeks only to defend himself?
And how does that
produce the point of it,
if I make his pride an obstacle to
reform?
No, Father, quicken me with the wisdom to guide
a sinner to the right conduct for himself!
Let me lead his
thoughts through stories and questions,
so that he arrives at
reformation of his own accord!
Make it so that his emotion is
subject to his reason,
that he may conclude and decide the
right path.
O GOD, my God! I know you want to see people
transform,
and is not this approach that which brings it
about?
I petition you to keep this understanding ever in me,
so that the people may hear and abide.
Mold me into a leader
the people don’t resist,
but incline their ears to for
their great profit!
Praise you LORD!
Petition 14
My
Father, you have taught me the process
of wound healing, such
that peace, joy and love arise.
O GOD, my God! Let my knowledge
and wisdom
come to eternally bless all the nations!
Praise
you LORD! Who is above anyone or anything
beyond your glorious
goodness and equity?
so show me, and show the world!
Show
them it is you who reigns supreme,
over the heavens and the
earth,
and everything that flies, walks and swims!
Use me
as your vessel to fulfill your will;
you have humbled me to
play the noblest part,
now let the world bear witness to your
handiwork!
Exalt your Messiah into the glory of his reign,
and grant him the blessings you have prepared,
that he may
bless all people through them!
Make him a testament to all the
peoples that
those who put their unwavering faith in you
find their deepest desires miraculously added!
Let his life of
persecution and torment give hope
to those who struggle
likewise, knowing you
vindicate them and restore their losses
sevenfold!
O GOD, my God! What more is there to pray?
so
answer these petitions right now,
and shut the mouths of the
doubters!
Let those who say, “Aha! His God can’t save him!”
be mesmerized and dumbfounded at what
you are now going to
unfold before their eyes!
I give you my thanksgiving for hearing
me
and for supplying these manifestations;
for is not
your son prepared and ready?
Petition 15
My
Father, what is surrendering to you
but the subjugation of
our selfish desires
to your will, purpose,
plan
and timing?
Is
it not denying our desired circumstances
in favor of growth
and transformation,
which only come with those desires being
denied?
For
is this not your method of preparation
in
making ready your holy emissaries,
that
they might inspire and uplift the nations?
Instead
of bemoaning and grumbling our lot,
let
us
study, observe and examine wisdom;
then we will be able
leaders at the hour!
Instead of kicking
and fighting
for
our dreams,
let
us
seek to patiently wait on your hand,
and have faith in their
appointed coming!
Instead of idly waiting for rescue and
salvation,
let
us
use the trials we face to grow and transform;
giving
us lessons which we can use to bless others!
O
GOD, my GOD! Make me an instrument,
yea, make me an
instrument of your hand,
and a tool that chisels your
fate for
me!
